How do I use the Design Manager to customize my site?

Print Friendly and PDF

o start customizing, switch the “Use Custom Styles On My Plugin” toggle at the top of the Design Manager so that it shows a checkmark. Don’t worry — if you forget to do this, you’ll be promoted when you save your changes. This switch allows you to switch back and forth between the plugin’s default appearance and your customized version with the touch of a button.

We have added tooltips throughout the Design Manager so you’ll always know exactly what you are changing. If you’re not sure what a particular description is referring to, hover your mouse over the small question mark beside its name and an image will pop up to show you the element you’ll be changing.

There are 33 fonts and countless colors to choose from, so you can get exactly the look you want.

To change a font, just choose from the drop-down menus. To change colors, click the box underneath the feature you want to change to bring up a color selector box. Move the slider on the right up and down to choose your color then move the dot in the box around until you have found the perfect shade. No knowledge of color hex codes required; just pick and go!

The Global Customizations section at the top of your Design Manager lets you quickly change the appearance of the Showcase IDX’s basic elements, such as the background color and base font.

Global Customizations

When you change something here, your settings are applied across entire plug-in. If you want to get more specific — for example, if you’d like to use one font for listing addresses and a different font for their descriptions — you would simply scroll down past the Global Customizations section and edit the individual sections you wanted to modify.

If you want to get more specific to really customize the appearance of your plugin, scroll down below the Global Customizations box. There, you can customize ‘til your heart’s content by changing the appearance of 86 different elements. Go wild… just not too wild.

If you don’t like what you’ve done, you can always click “Reset to Default” at the bottom of the page.

When you’ve finished designing your plugin, just hit “Save Customizations” at the bottom of the page. You’ll see your results immediately.
