Google Analytics Lead Event Tracking

  • Updated

As of July 1, 2023, Google Analytics only supports GA4 properties. Learn more about GA4 properties from Google Support. Please also refer to Google Support for assistance using Google Analytics and the GA4 property.

Events

With the previous Universal Analytics, Showcase IDX automatically created 2 event actions for new lead registrations (Showcase IDX New Lead: Registration) and new leads from a message (Showcase IDX New Lead: Message).

With GA4, you will continue to benefit from these same two events. We have also added several others.

The following events are trackable in GA4:

Setting Up/Installing a GA4 Property

Please refer to Google's documentation about setting up your GA4 property and installing the tag on your website. They are the experts in their domain and will be your best resource for Google Analytics questions, tips, and tricks.

Be sure to add your GA4 Measurement ID to the SEO settings in your IDX Control Panel.

Setting Up Events/Conversions

Once your GA4 tag is installed on your website, it can take up to 48 hours for events and conversions to display as data in reports. You won't have to manually create any events for Showcase IDX in your Google Analytics account.

Be sure to turn on conversions in your property settings. To do this, find the gear icon at the very bottom left of your Google Analytics account. This is your admin page.

Then, under the Property column, select 'Events'.

Find the Conversion event and turn the toggle to blue if it's gray, which will mark that event as a conversion. This will ensure that the Conversion events that Showcase IDX send show up in your reporting.
